There have been many ongoing earthquakes since September 2010, in Christchurch, New Zealand, the home of our national office and of course, many girls and leaders too. Thankfully nobody has been killed or injured but many of us in such a small community know others who have been affected.

As a Charitable Trust itself, Pub Charity supports communities all over New Zealand enabling organisations to reach their objectives and benefit the community they serve. Thanks to our venue operators raising funds through operating our gaming machines, Pub Charity is able to make a huge difference to a wide range of local causes by returning millions of dollars to New Zealand communities.
Summer Camp USA
We want to let GirlGuiding leaders here in NZ know that they have the opportunity to head to the US over a NZ winter to work at a summer camp as a counselor for 8-10 weeks between June and August. Once they finish at summer camp they have the opportunity to travel around the US for 30 days.
Raise Awareness on Climate Change
As you are aware, WAGGGS calls members around the world to join the a global awareness raising action on 1 December. The WAGGGS youth delegation at COP 17 has put together a set of action options for everybody to choose and soon there will be a video up on our website as well.

Looking Beyond Disaster: UNESCO Youth Forum
Christchurch 9 -12 December 2011. The Forum will bring together 100 young people from the Asia-Pacific region to share their experiences of natural disaster and to discuss youth and community resilience.
