Opportunities & Scholarships
Asia Pacific Leaders Awards
These
Awards are given to adult leaders of girls and leaders of adults in
recognition of being effective role models; who have given outstanding
contributions in their area and have acquired a high level of self
development that has enable them to provide good quality Guiding to
girls and leaders.
The Award winners will receive a "Certificate of Recognition" and a badge from the Asia Pacific Committee.
Who may apply?
There are two Awards – for unit leaders and for district, region, zone or national leaders.
Mona Burgin Scholarship

This scholarship enables GGNZ members to obtain refreshment of ideas and further enthusiasm by attending an overseas or New Zealand event or workshop.
GirlGuiding New Zealand Foundation
Assistance
in funding will be awarded to girls/women who wish to extend their guiding experiences
or horizons. This may be within New Zealand or overseas. She should
take part in her event or activity within 12 months of receipt of the grant.
Amount
available
Grant amounts will be awarded on a case by case basis.
Ruth Herrick Ranger Scholarship
This
scholarship is awarded annually to a Ranger/Ranger in Leadership who has completed
her Peak Award, to enable or assist her to attend a course, event or training
(either in New Zealand or overseas) that will extend her experience or horizons.
Funding available
$1,000, funded by the GirlGuiding
New Zealand Foundation.

Young Leader Event
This event includes:

Opportunities
to discover your own potential - Challenges involving initiative, teamwork and leadership skills
- Community Action
- Exposure to WAGGGS/GirlGuidingNZ initiatives and goals and relevant social issues
Event fee is nationally-funded, the only costs incurred are travel costs.
Who may apply?
All young leaders, district
co-ordinators and regional co-ordinators, preference will be given to leaders
aged 18 to 25 years who have not attended In the Lead previously. If spaces are
available,leaders up to 30 years of age will be considered.
Sangam World Centre
World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, India

- Relax in the peace and tranquility of Sangam?
- Enjoy the excitement and diversity of the city of Pune?
The Community Volunteer Programme at Sangam World Centre offers a unique opportunity to live the WAGGGS mission while staying in Sangam. After an extensive two-week orientation programme, participants are placed with an Indian community organization to volunteer for four months.

Open to members of
WAGGGS 18 years and over.
Funding Professional Development
