History of Otimai
The story of Otimai is really the story of the happy days spent there over the years by Rangers, Guides and Brownies together with their Leaders.
All have helped to build the story which began in 1927 when Mrs Lucinda Wilson, the first Chief Commissioner, gave to the Guides of New Zealand this beautiful bush covered property.
In 1977, fifty years later, it was decided to re-develop the property. An exciting plan was prepared and the Otimai Golden Jubilee Appeal was launched. The building will be lovingly cherished by the new generations of Guides just as it has been since the story began.
