Thinking Day 2012Southland region joined together at Riverton Racecourse to enjoy Thinking Day activities. ‘Tis the season to go campingMany of our districts have been away for a weekend camp during term 1. Kowhai district started it off with a camp at Riverton Racecourse with “Around the World in 40 hours” as their theme. Next Riverton Ranger, Penny Ronald, took the Aparima district guides on a “Survival” camp for her Ranger Outdoor Leadership Certificate. The next weekend it was Mataura River District heading off to the Mavora Lakes for a fun filled weekend. Lastly it was the turn of ToeToes district to head away. For those districts who didn’t go camping there was lots of time spent outdoors enjoying the fantastic summer weather we’ve had. Takahe district have been swimming, berry picking (and eating!!) and walked to Shallow Bay Relay for LifeA big thanks to all those who braved walking in the rain for the Cancer Society's Relay for Life. As a regional we raised over $700 which is a great effort. Suzanne Campers Badge Assessment 2012What a horrible day yet again for camper badge assessment.
