Stavanger 2013, Norway

6 - 13 July 2013

Open to girls aged 14 years and over at the time of the event, plus leaders.

The programme is still in the planning stages but please check out the website at www.stavanger2013.no for further information. The camp takes place in Stavanger on the scenic west coast of Norway. The campsite is easily accessed by plane, train and boat. Over 15,000 participants are expected to attend from all countries in Europe, USA and many more.

During the camp all patrols will be hiking in different areas close to Stavanger. All participants will also take part in a day trip to one of the most spectacular Pulpit Rocks in the world. The Prekestolen towers 604 metres over the Lysefjord. In addition to the special feeling of standing "on top of the world", the trip up and down is an experience in itself.

Closing date to National Office is 1 May 2012.

"The Northwest Centennial Roundup", USA

6 - 12 August 2012

Open to girls aged 13 - 17 years at the time of the event plus leaders.

Join the Girl Scouts of the Oregon and SW Washington in celebrating 100 years of Girl Scouting in the USA. 

Event Fee
USD $175.00 per person (approx NZD $210.00) - please note this price is subject to change. More information is provided about fees and costs in the below PDF.

Programme
Programme areas include a waterfront for swimming and boating, a sports area for games and sports, a workshop area for many, many different crafts, skills and demonstrations and a main stage for the opening and closing ceremonies as well as night entertainment. On the final day, Roundup participants will be bused to a huge council-wide 100th Birthday Celebration for Girl Scouts of all ages in Albany, Oregon.

International Subsidy
$750 for the Contingent Leader, $500 for each extra leader and $500 for up to four girls to attend.

Camp 101 - Ireland

Camp 101 3 - May 2011

4 July - 11 July 2012.

Activities will incorporate the Global Action Theme and include abseiling, orienteering, canoeing, outdoor cooking, hiking, crafts, dance, swimming and development education games. Lough Key also has the Boda Borg – challenges with imaginative puzzles but no instructions. This is the only one of its kind in Ireland!

Girls’ World Forum, Chicago, USA

12 - 16 July 2012

Programme
GWF 2012 will focus on three millennium goals:
MDG 1: to end poverty and hunger,
MDG 3: to promote gender equality and empower women
MDG 7: to achieve environmental sustainability.

The Forum will include the following elements:
Exchange with external partners
Develop advocacy skills
Identify viable solutions to MDG issues and incorporate them into designs of personal action plans
Participate in local take action projects
Review and incorporate Member Organizations 2010 and 2011 Forum action plans Centenary celebrations

Activities may include – hikes, day trips, abseiling, climbing, boating, Scottish crafts plus much more…

The four days will be spent doing countless activities from swimming and cooking to crafts galore, off-site trips and much more.

  • Day in central Launceston followed by an exciting evening in the Launceston Cataract Gorge
  • Bivouac for 12 - 13 year olds
  • Over night off site activity for 14 - 17 year olds
