Spring Challenge - Rangers, aged 17 + as of 24 September 2010
The Spring Challenge is New Zealand's premier all women adventure race. It is aimed at adventurous women of all abilities with the aims being for women to enjoy the outdoors, to embrace challenge and earn the rewards that follow an 'Adventure'.
As one of our values at GirlGuiding is accepting and providing challenges and learning from them, we thought this is an ideal event for our membership. The event organiser, world class athlete Nathan Faavae, has donated GirlGuiding an entry to the event of which over 500 women take part each year.
Each year teams of 3 women navigate their way by trekking, mountain biking and rafting their way round a series of checkpoints. Skills required are at an introductory level and the rafting is run by professional guides.
