What has Nelson been up to in 2012?
Why not tell us what you have been doing in your unit so far this year?
I know you have been out camping, doing Community Service and generally having a lot of GirlGuiding Adventures - lets show everyone what we have been doing!
Forward any stories or photos on to your Leader, District Co-ordinator, Regional Co-ordinator or the Southern Zone Office so they can be published here.
Nelson Girls Get Going
February 2012
Guides from all over Nelson were together on Sunday 26 February to complete their ‘Get Going Girl Challenge’ and teamed this up with an open day at Tahunanui Reserve. There were over 70 Guiding girls together with their families, leaders and members of the community getting involved.
The challenge is all about living a healthy lifestyle, developing an understanding of how to cope with challenges and most importantly, feeling good about yourself. The girls got the opportunity to try Zumba, Hip Hop Dance and Taekwon-Do. Also mountain biking, sack races, brain teasers, hula hoops, stilt walking, and skipping were enjoyed by all. It was a fantastic sunny day and a whole lot of fun. The day ended with some reflection of World Thinking Day and participating in a few activities to think about sustainability.
The Guides would like to thank the generous support of Coral Smith from First National, ITM Building Centre, Eclipse Dance Studio, Desire Fitness, International Taekwon-Do, Way 2 Go Sport Tasman and our MC, Murray Leaning.

February 2012
On our last day for 2011 we went for a walk to the mall and had a ice cream then we all went in for our picture with Santa. He loved seeing us and we loved having a picture with him also.
