Interested in volunteering? - ways to HELP as a Volunteer

Volunteers are a vital and integral part of GirlGuiding NZ, and for those interested in using a special skill they may have or simply supporting the organisation through volunteering as a helper rather than a member, we offer the following opportunities.

Parent/occasional helper
Many Units have a roster where once or twice a term a group of parents, adult family members or other adult volunteers take it in turn to help at the Unit meeting.

Camp/event helper
GirlGuiding NZ has adult-to-girl ratios to ensure safety and adequate supervision of girls.  Whether it's a trip to a show, a Guiding event or a camp for several days, your assistance could be invaluable.

Occasional maintenance
Occasional help with hall and equipment maintenance will help us make sure that everything is safe and in good condition for our girls and leaders.

Occasional driver
Help in transporting girls and/or equipment ensures that more activities can happen in different places in our community.

Public relations/media helper
You may have writing, marketing or media skills that could assist in sharing with the community the fun and value in what our girls do.

Fundraiser
If you have a flair for raising funds, your skills could be put to good use, boosting not only local income but extra activities for the girls.

Specialist in a particular area
Do you have a hobby or interest that you'd love to share with other people? Perhaps you have a national qualification in an outdoor activity such as climbing or a passion for arts and crafts? By sharing your skills and enthusiasm, girls will be able to benefit from your passion.
