Leaders/Volunteers

By volunteering for GirlGuiding New Zealand (NZ) you can help us create amazing opportunities and share your greatness with thousands of girls right across New Zealand.

GirlGuiding New Zealand is looking for women and men who can share their skills and expertise with the girls and young women of their community.

Volunteering with us means you can put your talents to good use as well as develop your own leadership skills. You’ll be given the help, support and training you need to do the job, plus it looks great on your CV!

We can work with you so volunteering fits in with your schedule, playing to your strengths, skill sets and interests. Whether you’d like to take a group of girls kayaking, be a driver for a day out, or help out with preparing programme materials, we welcome the time you can offer us.

Guiding welcomes everyone, regardless of race, faith, background or ability. The safety of our girls is our number one priority so we have screening procedures for our leaders and prospective members are security checked by NZ Police.

Any successful application will be conditional on receipt of a satisfactory police check, an interview, and contact information of two referees, to help ascertain how you relate to children, your communication skills and your ability to work in a team. If any false or misleading information is given or any material facts suppressed, any appointment made may be terminated.
